Haley believes in a holistic curriculum that addresses the mental and physical aspects of theory, fundamentals, and technique. She tailors her lesson plans to each individual student and teaching environment, creating original curriculum for every class, and encourages students to be forthcoming with all of their creative interests and learning needs. She aims for students to cultivate a strong mind-body connection that can also be applied to other contexts. Dramatic play, free instrument exploration, composition, and exploring the student's topic of choice are some of the elements in her classes that contribute to a learning environment where students can freely learn, grow, and create. Literature, board games, dice, crafts, and a sense of humor are a few of the tools she regularly incorporates. Haley teaches with the mantra, "peace begins with me."
